We have been involved in biodiversity work in the Gila Region in Southwest New Mexico. This has led to studying the vegetation of the Gila River from the Gila Wilderness, in the Gila National Forest, to downstream near the New Mexico/Arizona border below Red Rocks, NM. Our work has been compiled into the report: Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, Vascular Plants, and Habitat in the Gila River Riparian Zone in Southwestern New Mexico
The riparian fieldwork led to writing about trees of the region and publishing a symposium paper call Trees of the Gila Forest Region. We have now signed a contract with the University of New Mexico Press for a forthcoming book to be titled: Trees of Gila Forest of New Mexico.
